First Year Orientation Program: Applied Sciences Dept. of Sagar Institute of Science & Technology, Gandhi Nagar Bhopal, organizes an Orientation Programme "Shubhagham" for the new entrants. Fresher's mostly accompanied by parents, get their glimpse of college life and get a chance to interact with their new teachers and classmates. The objective of this programme is to groom and motivate the entrants to be good professionals, to inculcate the attributes and values of a professional and to develop a sense of commitment towards the nation and profession. This programme is being planned in terms of the refresher course and other activities so as to prepare the students to pursue their engineering with zeal and commitment.
Refresher Course: It is a short term course aimed at recall and reinforcement of previously acquired knowledge of English, Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Computer Science. Students sometimes do not have sufficient depth in their understanding, skills and abilities in a subject even after doing the course as part of the curriculum. This may be due to insufficient attention given to the course during 11th and 12th. This weakness makes it harder for students to fully understand and appreciate the advanced topics/courses. It has been observed over the years that students getting admission into graduate programs come from different backgrounds. To help incoming students overcome their weaknesses and to acquire the pre-requisites at the required level, Applied Sciences Dept. of SISTec has taken a unique initiative by introducing the concept of refresher course for incoming B.E. students.
