Academics Planing

The College is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya and Barkatullah University (for MBA), the curriculum and syllabi prescribed by the university are strictly adhered to. Apart from this prescribed curriculum, the College has strategized ways and means to strengthen the teaching-learning process in the following ways:

  • Advance planning of Academic activities and calendar in alignment with the University issued Calendar of Events is planned and published in advance before the commencement of every semester.
  • Formulation of objective driven teaching plan at the beginning of the semester.
  • Preparation of adequate learning materials (resources)
  • Updated library facilities with e-journals and DelNet software
  • Maintenance of course files by all faculty members which contains lesson plan, notes of lesson, question bank and performance details of the students
  • Adopting new and innovative teaching techniques, in addition to the traditional lecture method to get the students actively involved in the teaching learning processes and employing learner centric techniques such as smart class, web related assignments, peer learning, group discussion, use of NPTEL lectures, case studies, projects, surveys, quiz etc., in the delivery of the academic courses
  • To meet the challenges in technical environment, the institution organizes contemporary video discussion shows for each Engineering discipline, well planned PPT’s helping students to understand the new trends through videos depicting the latest technologies. The students are allowed to discuss, deliberate and innovate upon the ideas within themselves and also with the staff members.
  • Entrusting the teaching faculty (Teacher Guardian Concept) with the task of mentoring 30 students on academic and personal issues, thereby strengthening the bond between teachers and students, leading to a better learning atmosphere and to sustain their performance.
  • Organizing suitable invited guest lectures by industry personnel and industrial visits to improve the effectiveness of implementation of the curriculum designed by the University. Also, it bridges the gap between the industrial expectations and academic delivery. It makes the students aware about the recent trends and happenings in the industry.
  • Course allotment based on competency matrix, experience and performance in previous years.
  • Time table framed with provision for Value Added Programmes (VAP), seminar, motivational lecture, educational trips, sports and library hours with university norms.
  • The Head of the department along with the Principal and Vice Principal do a periodical review of the portions covered by the faculty members and monitoring of the student’s attendance.
  • Monitoring of course delivery and syllabus completion through formal and informal feedbacks both in written and oral forms.
  • Systematic examination process, standard question papers, proper and prompt evaluation and dispatch of reports to parents in the form of APR (Academic Performance Report) both in the form of hard and soft copy. The students are also informed for the scope of improvement in the performance through personal interaction.
  • Availability of customised software to monitor and aid students’ performance, teaching and evaluation process in the name of ERP, the login and password of the student is intimated to the parent for close monitoring.
  • A refresher course, workshops, FDPs for skill up gradation of faculty members from time to time during the break for students to the end of semester is conducted in the college campus.
  • Evening hours of library for long stretch of studies.
  • Provision of infrastructure facility, lush green campus with all the tools and aids required for skill enhancement in class as well as lab.
  • Encouraging students to do innovative project work of national interest through Nirmaan and Srijan. Motivating students for doing research work and present papers in seminars and conferences and publish in journals.
  • Bridging Industry –Institution gap with suitable value added programmes (Placement Oriented Training) which are part of the regular time table, an initiative of Training and Placement cell.
  • Designing and delivery of separate curriculum named as Kaizen, for the Placement Oriented Training, by the experts from the field.

All the students of the Sagar Group must strictly adhere to the Rules and Regulations and Code of Conduct enforced by the College from time to time. In general, the students should conduct themselves with dignity and decorum and observe the following rules:

  • The students should carry Identity Card while in the Campus at all times and should produce the same for verification when asked for by the college authorities.
  • The students should not loiter in the corridors or wander in the Campus unnecessarily.
  • The students should maintain personal cleanliness and also keep the Campus environment clean.
  • Use of mobile phones is strictly prohibited inside the classes and labs. In the event of violation of this rule, the phone will be confiscated.
  • The students should approach their Student Advisors (TGs) for any need or grievances. All applications to the Principal office should be routed through the Student Advisor.
  • The students are prohibited from physically harming, threatening or abusing anyone in the Campus.
  • The students should not trespass into unauthorized zones.
  • The students should not damage or disfigure in any way the property belonging to the Group. The Group will take steps to recover appropriate amount along with penalty from the students individually or collectively in the event of damage caused to the Group property. All the students should safeguard the equipments and property of the Institute. Continued offenses of this sort may result in suspension of the concerned students.
  • Possession and use of weapons by the students are totally prohibited, and would invite actions within the provisions of the laws of the land.
  • The students are expected to obey their teachers and be respectful towards them at all times. Misbehavior towards teachers will be considered an act of indiscipline and will be severely dealt with.
  • Failure to comply with the Code of Conduct would invite disciplinary action.
  • All the students should maintain discipline and decorum within the Campus and outside too at all times. They must be regular and punctual for their lectures and laboratories. Repeated absence without prior information renders the students liable for suspension and eventually dismissal.
  • 75% attendance is mandatory for the students as per RGPV rules. However, our Group recommends a minimum attendance of 95%. The students having shortfall in attendance will not be allowed to appear in the examinations.
  • Every student should maintain proper behavior and polite manners both within and outside the Campus, keeping in mind that their Institute will be judged by their conduct.
  • Immorality and inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.
  • Students should turn up in proper uniform and observe the dress code stipulated by the Institute. Students who do not conform to the proper dress code will be marked absent and sent home with a warning.
  • For leave on medical grounds, a written application (signed by the parent/guardian) with doctor’s prescription should be submitted. In case of illness during institute hours, students should inform their tutor-guardians (TGs) as early as possible. First aid will be provided by the Institute immediately. If required, they will be referred to the Institute doctor.
  • Students should submit all the assignments well in time and appear for class tests and mid-sem exams regularly without fail. Otherwise, their sessional marks will be adversely impacted.
  • Medium of instruction in the Institute is English. Students should endeavor to speak only in English in the institute premises.
  • Students are not allowed to commute by their private two- wheelers inside the Campus. They are advised to have proper license and wear helmets while riding outside the Campus.
  • The Institute authorities will not be responsible for the loss of money, books, records, mobile phones, jewellery, or any other article belonging to the students. It is entirely the responsibility of the students to take care of their possessions.
  • Guests are not allowed in the institute during the Institute hours. In case of emergency, students should take special permission from the Principal during college hours and from the Warden after the Institute hours.
  • Illegal possession, use and distribution of drugs, alcohol, tobacco products, etc. also constitute offenses and are liable for severe punishment. Smoking and consumption of alcohol are strictly prohibited anywhere within the Campus. Disciplinary action will be taken against students violating these norms.
  • Parents/guardians are requested to notify in writing any change in their address or telephone numbers to the institute.
  • Parents are requested to take interest and monitor their child’s academic performance, movement and habits. They are encouraged to approach the authorities to submit their suggestions and remarks.
  • The Parents-Teachers Meets(PTM) are regularly held at the Institute to apprise the parents of the students’ academic progress, attendance, conduct and general behavior. The parents or the guardians should be present during such meetings in their own interest. The parents should permit the Principal to initiate reasonable corrective actions vis-à-vis the students wherever necessary.
  • Disciplinary action will be taken against students who do not conform to the rules and regulations of the Institute and indulge in misdemeanor of any kind. All disciplinary actions recommended by the Disciplinary Committee are final and binding on the erring student.
  • All the students should necessarily bring the Students Diary to the classes or labs., failing which, they will not be permitted inside the classes or labs.

Besides following the laid procedure of admissions, we at 'SISTec' try to come up with innovative and fruitful ways to provide assistance in counseling such as delivering presentations on career guidance, providing helpline numbers to acquaint the candidates with all the information regarding college, admission details, counseling procedures etc. to all the candidates.

Examinations :

In addition to the semester exams conducted by RGPV, our institute conducts our own exams such as Mid Semester Exams I and II and Pre University Test, prior to the University exams. The marks obtained in these exams as well as periodic assignments will count for the sessional marks. The students are expected to take them seriously.

  • Student are required to attend at least 75% of lectures of each subject and practical separately. However con-donation of 15% absence can be considered as per the ordinance of the university.
  • Leave, other than vacation will not be encouraged. Parents and guardians are requested not to promote their wards to take leave from the college.
  • Admission rules and procedures are subjected to alteration / modification at any time without notice to the candidates.
  • Students, remaining absent from the classes for longer duration is liable to be removed from the college rolls.
Vacation:

As far as possible there will be a semester break of 10 to 15 days after the end of odd semester examinations. Summer Vacation of 20-30 days at the end of even semester examination will be given depending upon University notification.

Ragging:

Any student found guilty of ragging in or outside the campus will be liable to severe disciplinary action. The act of ragging is punishable offense under Govt. Law. Under this Law the student is liable to be dismissed from the college without any notice and the case may be reported to the police, if necessary.

Mechanism of internal assessment

For grievances related to exam, the students can write an application to the Principal. Subsequently, Principal forwards the applications to the Examination Cell. After verification, necessary corrections are done immediately and forwarded to the university for necessary action. The institute adheres to the redressal mechanism for grievances before exam and during exam.

Method for measuring attainment of PO, PSO and CO:

The PO attainment is calculated by using the predefined CO/PO matrix and the value of Final CO attainment calculated by direct assessment for the subject The PO attainment is calculated by using the formula
