SISTec Department of Mechanical Engineering organized an STTP which is being conducted from 8th February to 9th February, sponsored by RGPV under TEQIP-III and had presence of eminent speakers from IIT’s and NIT’s, experts with hands on experience, professionals from industry etc.
The STTP was inaugurated in the benign Sagar Institute of Science & Technology (SISTec), Bhopal presence of Dr. Sunil Kumar, ViceChancellor, RGPV, Bhopal as the Chief guest. Addressing the audience and concluding the inauguration function Dr. Kumar said,” he is very happy to be a part of such novel and creative training programs. He congratulated SISTec for organizing such brain storming STTP which builds perspective on Engine Mechatronics and ensures capacity building amongst budding professionals”. Principal of SISTec Dr. Keshavendra Choudhary, and Head of Mechanical Department Prof. Ravishankar Choudri welcomed the dignitaries and participants of the STTP. On the first day of the STTP Mr. Vinay Piparsania, Consulting Director- Automotive, Counterpoint Research Technology Marketing, Founder & Principal, MillenStrat Advisory & Research, The Ex President Ford India and Ex CEO of BMW Group Oman, enlightened the participants on Job opportunities and Role of tier II city engineers in Automotive Industry. He also guided on how to take first step towards automotive industry. He eulogized SISTec for conducting such progressive programs in the area of Engine diagnosis. In this 2-day program, the strategy is to address several challenging automotive problems with actual step-by-step repairs. Today’s automotive industry needs not just gear-heads, but quick and smart diagnostic techniques. Each session in this STTP describes a diagnostic plan that can be applied to any repair and maintenance issue, investigate and fix them right the first time. Strategy based automotive diagnosis is a systematic way to approach the automobile maintenance, that ensures we are utilizing the time and money in the most cost effective manner.
On the second day of the STTP Mr. Suraj Kadam, Technical Manager, ALTEM Technologies, Bangalore, delivered expert lecture on "Systems Design and Structural Analysis for mechanical products" in which he enlightened the participants on MSC Software, which says Simulating Reality, Delivering Certainty and develops simulation software technology that enables engineers to validate and optimize their designs using virtual prototypes and in some cases even replace the physical prototype “build and test” process that has traditionally been used in product design, due to which dependability of industries on this software is a lot. He also guided on how to take first step towards design and optimization. He eulogized SISTec for conducting such progressive programs in the area of Engine Mechatronics Diagnosis.
On the next session Dr. I. A. Palani, Associate Professor, Mechatronics and Instrumentation Lab, Mechanical Engineering Department, IIT Indore, delivered expert lecture on Autotronics ie Mechatronics for Automobiles. First he introduced all the participants to Autotronics, then explained about Sensors and Actuators like PMW, SBC (Sensotronic Brake Control) sensors, ABS, micro and nano level sensors. Session was very interactive which given wings to fly to participants and enhanced degree of freedom of mind to think in different manner.
On second half, Prof. Sanjay Chhalotre demonstrated and explained about strategy based diagnosis to repair engine mechatronics. On first day he demonstrated and given hands-on training in SI Engine (ie Petrol Vehicle) Mechatronics and today hands-on training in CI Engine (ie Diesel Vehicle) Mechatronics to all the participants which was mesmerizing to know and feel those all interesting facts for diagnosis.

At the end Concluding Session happened where feedback taken from the participants and their enthusiasm was clearly showing their growth in knowledge which conclude that science is a way of thinking much more than it is a body of knowledge.
Dr. Rashmi Dwivedi convener of the STTP proposed Vote of Thanks and commended all the participants. Mr. Sudhir Kumar Agrawal Chairman, Sagar Group congratulated the Department of Mechanical Engineering for conducting the STTP and said that; “Our Engineering Department(s) provide immense opportunities to students and faculty members for skill development and enhancement.
